The Tarot Deck Structure

A traditional tarot deck is divided into two main sections:

Each of the four minor suits aligns with a specific set of representations:

Wands – Correspond to the element of fire. They symbolize passion, creation, ambition, and action.

Cups – Align with water, representing love, relationships, emotions, and intuition.  

Swords – Associated with air and intellect, swords indicate conflicts, struggles, truth, and communication.

Pentacles – Linked to the earth element, pentacles relate to work, money, possessions, and the physical or material realm.

Tarot reading typically involves shuffling the deck while focusing your mind on a question or area of life you need guidance on. The reader then lays out one or more cards in a particular spread pattern and interprets their symbolic meanings and how they relate to the querent’s situation.
